Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy for adults

Psychotherapy offers a space to explore emotional experience in depth, particularly where familiar ways of coping no longer feel sufficient. People often come to therapy when something important feels difficult to articulate, contain, or integrate.

Particular interests

Some themes I often work with

The body is our general medium for having a world. — Maurice Merleau-Ponty
Approach

Relational and integrative

My overall approach is relational and integrative, drawing on humanistic and psychodynamic thinking alongside existential, somatic, and occasionally, some cognitive behaviour therapeutic approaches. I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship itself, as well as to the wider social, cultural, and relational contexts shaping a person’s lived experience.

I am a trained EMDR therapist and have done additional training in sensorimotor approaches. For me, we are a multiplicity of parts, our thoughts are important and so is our somatic experience and embodiment. I approach EMDR from an attachment-aware and Internal Family Systems position.

I aim to offer a space that is emotionally engaged and reflective, where there is space for all parts of the mind and body — one where complexity can be held without being rushed or reduced.

I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story. — Irvin D. Yalom
